South Mesa Trailhead
South Mesa Trailhead is the perfect combo of rustic bridge, creek water to stand in, beautiful light, hazy backgrounds and mountains. Situated 30 minutes from Broomfield and Boulder, near Eldorado Springs. Note, South Mesa will be closed due to construction work on every Monday and Tuesday this summer 2017.
Near the entrance is a rustic bridge, there is an old stone structure with wooden doors, a fence around it, and a field with the mountain backdrop. A river with rocks and areas where you can stand in the river . Many little spots to take beautiful pictures with beautiful light to create that hazy feel I love.
South Mesa Trailhead is so diverse, you can easily get a full portfolio of pictures at just this one location. See sample pictures below on this page.
How to get there:
1.7 miles west of Highway 93 on Eldorado Springs Drive (Highway 170).
So it’s about a mile before entering Eldorado Springs – you will see a sign on your right. There is a small parking lot. None Boulder residents will need to pay $5 cash for Parking. I will meet you at the parking lot.
